Area of distribution - Brown Recluse Spiders are NOT found in Australia although some have been found in Adelaide.
Spider Identification - Also called a violin or fiddle back spider due to violin like marking on its body - with uniformly light brown coloured legs and body - if it has speckles it is NOT a Brown Recluse Spider.
Habitat - it usually lives in dark secluded places, such as garden sheds and woodpiles. It is sometimes called a Violin Spider or Fiddleback Spider because of a violin-shaped marking found on its body.
